Tosha Makia Release “Did it Again” IMANI/FMI Supports ToshaMakia
With the elements of beauty and talent and an uncanny ability to stay focused and true to her vision, she gives the local music scene a complete breath of fresh air. ToshaMakia has already tapped into national markets, and according to her bio, which is too long to note, those taps are going to hit so hard that the release of her new single "Did It Again" will make the charts. “Be Yourself” and “Callin’ Me” will also be included in her release, which is scheduled for June 17th, 2005. Makia has received support from important members of the industry – as it is uncommon for a fresh new artist on the scene to be given an opportunity to serve as an on-air personality with a major radio station. “After my first single, ‘Be Yourself’ was released, Hot 93.7 showed me overwhelming love and support, then they offered me an opportunity to become an on-air personality", says Makia. Makia's debut single "Be Yourself" is the first independent record to get regular rotation at Connecticut's # 1 Urban Station Hartford's Hot 93.7, receiving as many as 60 spins a week. The record went on to garner commercial radio play in over 60 stations in 35 markets, including New York's HOT 97. High demand for the single was received from DJ's as far away as Germany and Japan. Her second single, "Callin' Me" also received considerable national commercial radio airplay and gave her the "street credibility" she needed to continue to lay her foundation. The success of her singles have afforded Makia many new opportunities, including national television appearances on BET 106 & Park, The Carson Daly Show and the WB Morning Show. Makia has performed in major venues such as the Hartford Civic Center, Bridgeport Harbor Yard Arena, Raymond James Stadium in Tampa and Disneyland -- performing alongside established artists as LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, Ashanti and Lil' Kim -- among others. Indeed, Makia has the right attitude when it comes to show business: passion, dedication, commitment and the ability to stay focused. Makia stays on a busy schedule, juggling her responsibility as an artist as well as her duties at HOT 93.7.
