The Official “CT Fashion Week” to Kick-Off in Downtown, New Haven-CT

New Haven, Conn. – IMANI Publications/Fashion Models Institute is planning the Official Connecticut Fashion Week (TM) which is set to take place September 8th thru 15th 2012. The event will begin in New Haven with a ribbon cutting ceremony and end with a Grand Finale in Bridgeport, at Amici Mieis. Other locations the event will take place throughout the week include Hartford and Milford.

Focus/Mission...

CT Fashion Week will feature established and aspiring fashion designers and other industry members showcasing their work and services to public and private sponsors. Workshops and competitions will be held for the first portion of the week tapering off with a Grand Fashion Finale as the last show.

A ceremony will kick off the event and a fashion finale will taper the event- Where local, national and international designers, models and celebrities will be featured in a high-energy showcase. A Disney-themed fashion show, a designer competition and other features will serve as the event kick-offs, including several smaller shows (including a children’s show) with an awards ceremony and cocktail.

Building Relationships….

Prior to the main events in September, CT Fashion Week will participate in several community events to help publicize the event and create awareness of youth and education through fashion. It also seeks to establish and build relationships with local and national media and businesses. There are unlimited resources of promotional opportunities for sponsors, participants and vendors to network as part of the CT Fashion Week Team.

The ultimate goal of the event is to create an exciting learning environment and safe forum for attendees of all levels to gain information about the fashion and arts industry in general. For instance, at the workshops, attendees can pinpoint their career strategies, get advice on portfolios, meet industry professionals, and expose themselves to powerful networking opportunities. Designers can get a hand in broadening their retail base to buyers, clothiers and wholesale and retail networks
